It was a rather impressive year for the Toronto Raptors, a team that played much better than many expected. It was the start of what could be a very bright future for this organization, and much of that is because of the players they can move on from to get better on both sides of the basketball court.

One of those guys is Brandon Ingram, who, in his own right, is not somebody that many are viewing as a championship-caliber guy. Ingram averaged 21.5 points, shot 47.7% from the field, and 38.2% from 3-point range on the season.
All in all, he was definitely a good enough player to be a third option, but he might not have been the guy Toronto was looking for. For those reasons and more, there’s a feeling now that he could be traded.

After Ingram was injured and mostly ineffective against the Cavs, Sportsnet’s Michael Grange floated the possibility that the Raptors could use Ingram’s contract to find a scoring upgrade,” Sean Deveney of Heavy wrote.
The Raptors would probably be better off not bringing in another star for now. There’s definitely an argument to be made that he could bring them back a decent return, though there’s still the side of the story that suggests Toronto won’t get a player in return that’s as good as him.

If the Raptors are going for fit, however, this could be a trade that makes sense.
