After making an impressive jump during the 2025-26 season, the Charlotte Hornets have a few key contributors eligible for long-term contract extensions. All three of whom are current starters, including the longest-tenured Hornet.
1- Brandon Miller
Former Alabama forward Brandon Miller is eligible for an extension beginning July 1. Considering his performance throughout his first three years, it seems more than likely that a deal will be reached. If not, he’ll be a restricted free agent next summer, giving the Hornets a chance to match any offer sheet he signs with another team.

2- LaMelo Ball
Although LaMelo Ball is under contract with Charlotte until the 2028-29 season, he’ll be eligible to sign a two-year $119.2 million extension July 6. This extension would kick in beginning with the 2028-29 season.
1- Miles Bridges
An unrestricted free agent after the 2026-27 season, Charlotte could seek an extension with the seven-year Hornet. Although Bridges has indicated a desire to stay with the franchise, a trade would be likely if the two sides cannot agree on a deal.
