Does Joe Mazzulla winning the 2026 NBA Coach of the Year award feel different because of how the Boston Celtics season ended? If we ask the man himself, he will likely tell you the award is a stupid one anyhow given how the success he has been feted for was due in large part due to the work put in by his coaching staff.

But that also does not take away from the job he helped Boston do in the 2026 NBA regular season. Nor does it change how easily things turned on the Celtics vs. the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2026 NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs. So how do we feel about the honor in light of all of the above?
