Mavericks star Kyrie Irving is almost back to full health following an ACL tear that cost him the 2025-26 season. Now 34, Irving feels more efficient after his recovery period and is preparing to make his highly anticipated return to the court for Dallas next year.
Kyrie Irving missed out on the whole 2025-26 campaign with the Dallas Mavericks after sustaining an ACL tear.
In the 2024-25 season when he played for the last time, Irving played 49 times and has averaged 24.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists, playing 36 minutes per match.
Australian point guard is yet to debut with Cooper Flagg, but it seems that it will finally happen next season.
As Irving revealed on his Twitch account during a live stream, he is close to be at 100% regarding his fitness and health.
“I am definitely close to being over at 100% in terms of my ACL recovery. I’m so grateful that I’ve had the time to heal everything,” Irving said.
“With time I became kind of tired, daily work, routine that we lived for years, minor injuries over the whole body, it left a mark, but I understand whilst the game is slowing down for me, I learn how to be more efficient with the ball,” he concluded.
Irving will start the next season as a 34-year old, turning 34 this March, joining Dallas in 2022 from the Brooklyn Nets.
