CEO and head coach Al Greer of Memphis Rollin’ Grizzlies said that Wheelchair Basketball has been a highlight of his life, as it has given him the chance not only to play the sport himself but also to provide this opportunity to others.
The teams showcased this tournament to highlight and increase awareness of those participating in competitive adaptive sports.
“It’s just bringing awareness to things they do for those with a disability, and it kind of gives us a presence in the community to be visible,” said Rollin Grizzlies player Michial Archie.
Players encourage more people to get involved in competitive adaptive sports, as these sports have become more accessible to many over the years.
