MOSCOW, ID – The University of Idaho had a former women’s basketball player who recently joined the Luxenberg women’s basketball league.

Idaho women’s basketball alumna Jennifer Aaland has signed her first professional contract with Sparta Bertrange.

This is a top-tier team in the Luxembourg women’s basketball league.

Aaland played for Augustana University for her first four years before transferring to the Vandals last season.

She was an ironman for the Vandals as she started all 30 games for the Vandals last season.

While becoming one of the best rebounders in the nation, snagging 7.6 defensive rebounds per game. At that rate, it ranked 12th in the nation last season.

Aaland was more than just a rebound machine; he also put the ball in the bucket consistently.

She scored in double figures 17 times throughout the season, including a 19-point game against Idaho State. She totaled eight double-doubles last season.

Outside of the court, she also had success with being named a 2024-2025 CSC Academic All-District team and a 2025 Big Sky All-Academic team.

With this news, Aaland becomes the 14th vandal to currently be playing in the pros.
