Jaylen Brown‘s long-term future with the Boston Celtics has been a hot topic among both the fans and the media over the past few weeks. Rumors of a potential trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo have ensured that Brown’s name has remained in the rumor mill. However, other teams have also been mentioned as potentially interested parties, including the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers and Atlanta Hawks.
Brown has three years remaining on his current five-year $285.3 million supermax contract. He’s also eligible for a two-year $141.9 million contract extension this summer. Therefore, there’s no guarantee the Celtics would look to part with one of their star players, unless they were getting exceptional value in return, such as a talent like Giannis.
