The NBA Finals are set to begin this week, and a champion will be crowned between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder. Two teams are set to compete for basketball’s most prestigious honor, but 28 others are gearing up for the next campaign.
The NBA Draft is only a few weeks away, with free agency following closely behind. One team on the rise is set to debut a new look next year, and the new line of uniforms has some fans reminiscing on the franchise’s initial run to glory.

The Orlando Magic unveiled new uniforms on Tuesday, and the new set is inspired by the original pinstripe uniforms the team wore in the 1990s.
“The uniforms are a nostalgic tribute to a favorite of the Magic’s fanbase while being on trend with current and future style,” the team said in a release.
Stars Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs modeled the new uniforms, which are a modernized take on what players like Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway wore decades ago.
“The Orlando Magic’s mission is to be world champions on and off the court. The logo and uniforms are an extension of that mission and a direct reflection of the excellence our organization strives for from our ownership to our staff, coaches and players,” said Shelly Wilkes, Magic EVP of Marketing and Social Responsibility.

Wilkes noted that fan feedback was essential to the design of the uniform and the new logo, and reception on social media has been positive.
“We won. Pinstripes are back full time. A++,” said NBA content creator Kenny Beecham.
“Orlando hit this out of the park here,” said NBA writer Evan Sidery.
“Would love to see an eventual Wolves rebrand lean into the retro like Orlando just did,” one Minnesota Timberwolves fan said.
“Magic easily got the best jersey in the league now,” another fan said.
“I think fans will absolutely love this set and the ideas behind it. A great callback to the original jersey and logo while forging something new,” said an Orlando fan.

We’ll see if other teams around the league – and in other sports – follow suit after Orlando’s rebrand received such positive reception from fans.
