Any bets on another Braylon Mullins 35-footer?
The Thanksgiving Eve bout at Vegas’s T-Mobile Arena will be the 12th all-time meeting between the two blue-blood programs. The last meeting, of course, was on March 29 in an Elite Eight bout in Washington, D.C. Duke led by 19 points in the first half, 15 at halftime and maintained a lead throughout the entire second half until Mullins’ miracle shot, off a Cayden Boozer turnover, swished through the net with 0.4 seconds left on the clock.
The Huskies’ 73-72 victory sent them to the Final Four in Mullins’ hometown of Indianapolis. UConn beat Illinois in the national semifinals, but lost to Michigan in the national championship game.
Both Mullins and Boozer return to their respective teams this season, and both should be ranked among the top five in the country in the preseason AP Top 25 poll.
The game, which will be televised on Amazon Prime, is one of several tough non-league games on UConn’s 2026-27 schedule. The Huskies will also host Kansas, face Illinois in Chicago in early/mid-December, and travel to Arizona. And at least one other high-level bout is likely to be scheduled.
UConn is 5-6 all-time against Duke.
