Following reports linking LeBron James to the Warriors, many have speculated if Golden State will try to acquire Washington Wizards center Anthony Davis in order to convince James of leaving Los Angeles for the Bay Area. Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report added fuel to the fire earlier this week, ranking the top-five trade packages for Davis.

Surprisingly, Hughes ranked Golden State No. 1, ahead of other teams like the Hornets, Clippers, Timberwolves and Rockets. In the proposed deal, the Warriors would send Jimmy Butler III and the No. 11 overall selection to Washington for Davis. While Golden State would have to relinquish a lottery pick, they’d shore up their frontcourt and be able to move on from Butler III, who is expected to miss the majority of the season after an ACL tear suffered in January. However, it’s important to note that the Wizards may drive a hard bargain to give up Davis before his debut with the team, after packaging two first-rounders to acquire him from the Dallas Mavericks last season.
