It’s time to go back in time and look at the draft history of the Philadelphia 76ers. There have been a number of selections made by this franchise and now is the time to look at some of those moves and see who they could have picked on those specific nights.
This edition looks at the 2011 NBA draft when the Sixers selected Nikola Vucevic with the No. 16 pick after a surprise run to the playoffs. He played one season in Philadelphia and averaged 5.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 51 games before he was sent to the Orlando Magic in the big blockbuster trade that landed Andrew Bynum in Philadelphia.
HoopsHype performed a re-draft of 2011 and they have the Sixers selecting Markieff Morris with that pick as Vucevic went No. 5 in the re-draft:
The other Morris twin hasn’t had quite as impactful a career as his brother, though he did boast a similar skill set as a versatile defender who provided floor-spacing and face-up scoring.
Markieff Morris, the twin of Marcus, played 14 years in the league and averaged 10.2 points and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 44.3% from the floor and 34.1% from deep. He played for the Phoenix Suns, the Washington Wizards, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks, the Detroit Pistons, the Brooklyn Nets, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Miami Heat.
