Tiago Splitter is leaving the Portland Trail Blazers to become the head coach of the Chicago Bulls, according to a league source confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive on Monday. ESPN first reported the news. Splitter, 41, coached the final 81 games of the regular season and playoffs for the Blazers after Chauncey Billups’ arrest by the FBI in October. Portland finished seventh in the Western Conference at 42-40 before bowing out in the first round of the playoffs to the San Antonio Spurs. The other reported finalists for the Blazers’ job include Minnesota assistant Micah Nori and Boston Celtics assistant Tyler Lashbrook.
