Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green recently previewed the NBA Draft on his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show,” and in doing so spent some time evaluating former Duke star Cameron Boozer.
When it got to Boozer, Green mentioned him alongside one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history. “Tim Duncan never had to blow you through the roof. Yet he was so great. He’s one of the greatest players we’ve ever seen,” said Green.
“Low on the entertainment value, but very high on the production value. And I think that was Tim Duncan. And you look at Cam Boozer; he has a similar thing.” Green went on to clarify he doesn’t expect Boozer to be the next Tim Duncan; however, he sees his demeanor, success and perceived lack of athleticism as very similar to Duncan, a Hall of Famer and five-time NBA Champion.
Additionally, throughout the draft process, Boozer was also compared to Green’s recent teammate, Al Horford. Although Duncan is regarded as a much better player than Horford, in the grand scheme of things, both are still NBA champions with 19 or more seasons in the NBA.
