After a long, drawn-out process, the Miami Heat finally landed their star player, acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. This move comes soon after the Brooklyn Nets acquired Julius Randle in a three-team deal that sent Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls. As expected, the deal comes prior to the 2026 NBA Draft. In return for Antetokounmpo, the Bucks will receive Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, three first-round picks, one second-round pick, and one pick swap.
Although Giannis played in just 36 games during the 2025-26 campaign, when healthy, the Greek forward is among the league’s most impressive talents. In the last 10 years, Antetokounmpo has made 10 All-Star appearances, won two MVP awards, a Defensive Player of the Year Award and an NBA championship. Now with the Heat, Antetokounmpo will be in search of his second ring as the Bucks begin a full-scale rebuild.
