A town in Arkansas is preparing to celebrate an Oklahoma City Thunder forward.The city of Fort Smith, Arkansas is set to rename a street near the former high school of Jaylin Williams in his honor. A portion of the city’s North 23rd Street will become “Jaylin Williams Court.” According to a social media post, the act is part of a celebration of Williams’s journey from Northside High School to the University of Arkansas and into the NBA. In that post, organizers cited his leadership and community impact as a source of pride that Williams continues to bring to his hometown community. It all becomes official during a street naming ceremony set for July 9 at 6:00 p.m. City officials, community leaders, family, and fans are expected to take part in his special tribute.
