It was the talk of the town last night, especially in Stillwater. *** lot of damage there in Payne County, but you say we’re in for *** pretty hot and humid day today. You know, we’re not gonna ease into this thing. It’s not like, you know, you know, get *** little spring, *** little summer. No, it’s just like boom, here comes summer. There we go, and, uh, it’s gonna hit you right in the square in the face tomorrow as well, um, for sure. All right. Oh, we got, we’re just adjusting our mic *** little bit. You just need to switch that on. We got brand new mics here at KUCO 5, and you’ve got it on, yeah, yeah, yep. All right, radar, here we go. *** little bit of *** sprinkle here across southern portions of the metro looking good, little sprinkle or two. It’s all moving out. Most of the heavy rain. And thunderstorms are now across northwest Arkansas. So this is the trend. All right. The rain moving out and here comes, here comes the sun, 74 degrees on the outside right now, 79 now towards Ardmore, 68 in Woodward, 66 in Guyan, 77 McAllister. Oklahoma City here today, 8 a.m., *** lingering sprinkle or two, throughout the 8 a.m. hour. 7. 488 for noon, 96 for the daytime high that 96, it will not feel like 96, it’ll feel close to 104, 105 when you tack on the heat and the humidity called the heat index. That’s what it’s gonna feel like on your skin, uh, later on this afternoon, *** sauna like continuing with this heat and humidity on that 5 + 5 forecast and I’ve got your. Holiday forecast for 4th of July coming up here in just *** few minutes. All right, thanks, Steve. Now we want to get straight over to the damage that we saw because of the storms last night starting in Stillwater, damaging several planes at the airport. Yes, some even flipped over plus *** hangar is missing part of its roof. Patrick Talbot has *** look at the damage. Severe weather moving across. Across parts of Oklahoma, Stillwater Regional Airport hit hard. Several planes in the area damaged. Take *** look over my shoulder. You can see *** plane that is upside down. We spoke with an OSU flight student who uses planes that are stored at this airport, and he showed us some incredible video of some of the planes, the other planes that were damaged. One fully flipped over one of LSU’s multi-engine trainers, um, as well as multiple single engines that have their front gear completely collapsed. Uh, one, another one of the multi-engines still upright but moved probably. 3-400 feet across the ramp area. So yeah, it’s maybe 5 to 10, hopefully not more. We know that several more planes were damaged on Friday night when the storm rolled through the Stillwater Regional Airport, but city officials tell us as of Friday night no injuries had been reported due to this weather. Reporting in Stillwater. Patrick Talbot, KOCO 5 News. Also we’re seeing nearly 11,000 Oklahomans without power still this morning, more than 4000 here in Oklahoma County. So as the day goes on, that’s going to be an issue. So hopefully they’re able to get things fixed up very quickly. Well, new this morning, *** person is at the hospital after *** motorcycle crash and more. Police say the crash between *** car and *** motorcycle happened last night around 10:00 p.m. near Southwest 19th Street just west of Fritz Boulevard. Police say the motorcyclist is in stable condition this morning, so *** great update there. Hopefully they recover, Kylie. In Oklahoma City, *** house fire is now under investigation for arson and domestic violence. On Wednesday, fire crews responded to this home you see here on Northeast 13th where they say they found *** woman who was bleeding. Authorities have now arrested that. Woman’s boyfriend, they say he allegedly attacked her before possibly setting the house on fire. New court documents reveal the victim’s mother says she remembers waking up to her adult daughter screaming and what sounded like someone getting hit with something. The mother then found her daughter bleeding in the hallway, smoke coming from her daughter’s bedroom, and the boyfriend nowhere to be found. Police arrested the 35-year-old boyfriend Wednesday on two counts of domestic assault. He is currently being held on *** $250,000 bond. And new this morning, one man is dead after *** crash in McIntosh County last night. This happened just before 11. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says *** car drove into the back of another car while they were in the southbound lanes of US 69. That driver, 35 year old Tyler Brown of McAllister, was killed. OHP says Brown was not wearing *** seat belt at the time of the crash. No one else was injured in this accident, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is still investigating this crash at this time. Developing right now, we’ve learned *** sixteen-year-old just charged in the deadly Arcadia Lake shooting also faces charges in *** shooting weeks later. Documents indicate the teen was involved in some sort of shooting on May 29. That’s 26 days after the mass shooting at the lake. He was arrested for this incident at the beginning of June. Witness. told investigators the teen was spotted at Arcadia firing several rounds from the parking lot area of the campground. One person died, 23 more were hurt in that incident. The teen, who we are not naming right now, is facing 4 charges in this case, including shooting with intent to kill. In all, 6 people there were charged. You can see them on your screen. New this morning, multiple wildfires burning across Utah amid one of the rarest and most extreme weather warnings out West. Utah declaring *** state of emergency, with at least 14 new fires erupting in the state in just the last 24 hours, forcing evacuations for several new counties. Overnight, two wildfires merging into one. The Cherry Fire burning more than 12,000 acres across south of Salt Lake City. The Cottonwood fire still 0% contained. Now one of Utah’s most destructive fires in the state’s history, with more than 71,000 acres scorched. The smoke cloud was getting bigger and bigger and, you know, just incredible really in *** devastating and sad way to watch how fast that fire just all of *** sudden appeared. Southwest of Salt Lake City, the iron fire burning over 40,000 acres, but with 27% containment, officials lifting some of those evacuation orders and some residents could go home.
