As he is set to become an unrestricted free agent, Wagner is reportedly open to exploring outside opportunities

“Another big man who could be on the move this summer: Orlando’s Moe Wagner,” Stein and Fischer indicated.

“Sources say Wagner projects to have multiple suitors in free agency and a willingness to play elsewhere even though his brother Franz obviously remains a Magic cornerstone.”

Moritz Wagner set to entertain outside offers after being in Orlando since 2020

Moritz Wagner will be a free-agent big man, as his expiring $5 million salary for the previous 2025-26 is set to officially end.

The German star has been in Orlando since 2020 and was subsequently joined by his younger brother, Franz, who was drafted by the franchise as the No. 8 overall pick a year later.

An elite, high-motor big man, Wagner established himself as a key cog of the Magic in the past couple of years. As he was about to enjoy the best season of his career, a brutal ACL injury last December 2024 significantly hindered him from maximizing his full potential.

He only returned last 2025-26 season, playing 36 games. As such, his averages significantly declined to 6.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11.9 minutes.

Depending on what he can get on the market, Wagner will continue to be monitored as he weighs whether to remain in Orlando or sign elsewhere.
