The Orlando Magic are working on their finances ahead of the NBA summer league. The team waived Jonathan Isaac Saturday evening, a move that will save $6.5 million ahead of the 2026-27 season. Due to Isaac being relieved before the June 28 deadline, he is only owed $8 million by the team. Isaac was drafted sixth overall in the 2017 NBA draft and served as the longest tenured forward on the Magic, with nine years on the squad. In a little under a decade, Isaac has played 328 games, starting 109 of them. He scored 2231 points with the Magic with a career high of 720 in the 2018-2019 season. This past season, Isaac appeared in 52 games for the Magic, missing the playoffs due to a left knee strain.
