The early returns of Canyon View boys basketball after a month with Cory Duke as coach are successful with the potential for big things down the road.
The Jaguars got to the semifinals of the AZPrreps365 bracket at the Section 7 tournament June 12-14 in Mesa, beating Stockton Lincoln (Calif.) and Las Vegas Desert Pines in the first two games.
Then Canyon View ran into Redondo Union (Calif.), the eventual bracket winner and one of the most consistent public school programs. The Sea Hawks won 69-55.
