NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Pelicans are keeping Karlo Matković in the fold.
The team announced Thursday, June 25, that it exercised a third-year option on the forward/center, giving New Orleans another season with one of its young frontcourt pieces.
Matković, 25, was selected by New Orleans with the 52nd overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. He has appeared in 104 games over the past two seasons, including nine starts.
In those games, Matković has averaged 6.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in 16.4 minutes per game. He has shot 58.9% from the floor, 37.8% from 3-point range and 75.3% from the free-throw line.
PELICANS HEADLINES
The move gives the Pelicans more frontcourt depth heading into the offseason while keeping Matković on a team-friendly deal.
Matković played in 62 games during the 2025-26 season, averaging 5.7 points and 3.7 rebounds. He also shot 60.4% from the field and 42.2% from 3-point range.
