Marcus Smart could be on the move this offseason. According to The Athletic, the belief around the league is that the Los Angeles Lakers guard will opt out of his $5.4 million player option and seek a longer-term contract.

The Houston Rockets are viewed as the most likely team to land Smart once free agency opens, partly because of his connection with head coach Ime Udoka, who coached him in Boston.

For the Lakers, losing Smart would be a major defensive blow after he started 54 of 62 games and became their most consistent perimeter stopper.
