MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WKOW) — A downtown Milwaukee mural honoring former Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been vandalized.
The mural, painted on the 600 East Building, was tagged with graffiti.
According to our Milwaukee affiliate, artist Mauricio Ramirez spent much of today covering the damage and restoring his work.
“A lot of people are handling it very differently, and everyone handles breaking news differently. People have different ways to express themselves. Obviously, these people chose to express themselves through vandalism,” Ramirez said.
The mural was completed in 2022, before Antetokounmpo was traded to the Miami Heat last month.
