The Bucks have drafted nine players out of Europe in their history. Antetokounmpo is the star from the bunch, but Turkish forward Ersan Ilyasova — selected 36th overall in 2005 — was a rotation player in his Milwaukee days.
Milwaukee even drafted Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki from Germany, though he was traded before ever playing for the Bucks.
The NBA had five European All-Stars — Alperen Şengün, Victor Wembanyama, Luka Dončić, Jokić and Antetokounmpo — in its 2025-26 rendition.
Summer play is already on Bogoljub Marković’s résumé
Milwaukee finalized its California Classic Summer League roster on Thursday. Marković is listed in the lineup.
He was also part of the summer roster in 2025, averaging 8.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 48.3% from the floor in five games, according to RealGM.
It’s been a year since he competed in the United States, but last time around he expressed that he’s able to play either center or power forward, depending on the lineup.
“I’m just trying to be on the same page as everybody,” he told reporters July 12, 2025. “Later on I can show more, 100%, but right now I want to have, as a team, one idea, which is (to) contribute to all of us.”
