AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Amarillo Shock will begin play in the American Basketball Association this fall, with the team’s inaugural season set to tip off Oct. 17.
Open tryouts are planned for mid-July as the organization looks for local talent to build its roster.
Owner Que Hines, a former ABA player, said the organization is focused on creating opportunities for athletes across West Texas while bringing professional basketball back to the Amarillo community.
The Shock are also seeking local sponsors as they prepare for the inaugural season.
