The NBA California Classic means the beginning of summer league basketball. After a run to the NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs take on the Miami Heat to open up summer league action. San Antonio is led by Carter Bryant, who played in just over 22 minutes during the NBA Finals. Rookies Jayden Quaintance and Tarris Reed Jr. will also make their debuts for San Antonio after being drafted 20th and 26th in the 2026 NBA Draft.Â
Several familiar names headline this year’s roster for the Heat, including second-year players Myron Gardner and Vladislav Goldin, along with Trevor Keels and Jahmir Young. Miami’s 2026 second-round acquisition, Ryan Conwell, will also make his first appearance in a Heat uniform.
The 2026 California Classic will be held in two locations, with the Warriors and Kings serving as dual hosts. Friday’s game will be at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
The Golden State Warriors will host the eighth annual California Classic Summer League, with play between the Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Heat, and Spurs. The Kings, for the second time in three years, will feature a second Warriors entry, along with themselves, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Milwaukee Bucks.Â
