PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix Suns added backcourt depth Saturday by signing guard Pat Spencer to a two-way contract, the team announced.
Spencer joins Phoenix after spending the first three seasons of his NBA career with the Golden State Warriors and is coming off the best season of his career, averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 66 games, including 14 starts.
He also shot career highs from the field at 42.7% and from 3-point range at 35.7%.
Spencer scored in double figures 23 times last season. He also recorded his first career double-double on Nov. 19 at Miami, finishing with 11 points and 13 assists.
In 111 career NBA games, all with Golden State, Spencer has averaged 5.2 points and 2.6 assists.
The signing gives the Suns another guard option as they continue shaping their roster.
