The Golden State Warriors remain interested in trading for Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III.Several other teams, including the Pistons, Hawks, Celtics, and Clippers, are also potential suitors.A potential trade from the Warriors could be influenced by LeBron James’ upcoming free agency decision.Golden State possesses multiple future first-round draft picks that could be used in a trade.

Although the Golden State Warriors didn’t move their No. 11 overall selection to acquire Trey Murphy III during the 2026 NBA Draft, they remain interested in acquiring the Pelicans forward, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Scotto also reported that the Pistons, Hawks, Celtics and Clippers could be possible suitors as well.

Murphy III has averaged over 20 points per game in each of the last two seasons, tallying 21.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals last year.

While a potential trade package from Golden State has yet to be revealed, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the team wait on LeBron James’ decision before engaging in a deal with New Orleans. If draft capital is needed to complete the move, it’s worth noting that the Warriors own their 2028, 2029 and 2031 first-rounders. If their 2030 pick falls within the top 20, they’ll retain it. If it falls beyond 20, the Washington Wizards will get the rights to it.
