Young athletes from across the area are invited to Yorkville Christian on Saturday, Aug. 1, for the sixth annual Hoops 4 Hunger Basketball Camp.
The camp is open to boys and girls entering kindergarten through 12th grade. Morning sessions run from 10 a.m. to noon for K–sixth graders; afternoon sessions run from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for grades 7–12. Registration is $20 per participant.
Yorkville Christian High School is located at 2001 Whitekirk Lane, Yorkville.
Hosted by Yorkville Christian alumnus Micah Schnyders, the camp will feature basketball fundamentals taught by high school, collegiate, and professional coaches.
A special speed and agility station will be led by Schutt Sports Performance.
Attendees will also hear from guest speakers and compete for prizes, including autographed sports memorabilia and tickets.
Each participant receives a camp T-shirt and a regulation-size basketball.
All proceeds from registration and collected food donations benefit local food pantries. Participants are asked to bring at least one food item. Those who donate extra items receive additional prizes.
