The Charlotte Hornets have officially finalized the trade that sent LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a package headlined by Naz Reid and draft capital. Following the news, Charlotte posted a tribute video for Ball, highlighting some of his greatest moments with the franchise.
Originally selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Ball spent six seasons with the Hornets before being traded earlier this summer. In those years, Ball averaged 20.8 points, 7.3 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals while shooting 36.5% from beyond the arc. As a result, Ball is second in franchise history when it comes to made 3-pointers, sixth overall in points and fourth in assists. Not bad for just six years, especially considering Ball played fewer than 50 games in three of those seasons.
