LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) – Kansas superstar Darryn Peterson was picked 2nd-overall in the 2026 NBA Draft. He’ll be joined in “the association” by at least one of his Jayhawk teammates.
Melvin Council Jr. has signed an undrafted free agent council with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to reports Thursday morning.
Council Jr. joined the Jayhawks in the spring of 2025 after stops at St. Bonaventure and Wagner. He averaged 12.7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, becoming a fan-favorite in his lone season in Lawrence.
