The Minnesota Timberwolves are still holding out hope that LeBron James will acknowledge their existence in any way publicly. Unfortunately, he has yet to really do that.

In the past 24 hours, reports have surfaced that Ant indeed has reached out to his Olympic teammate, and pitched him on joining the Timberwolves, despite earlier reports that the two had yet to talk.

Despite the earlier report, Anthony Edwards HAS reportedly reached out to LeBron James

“They telling you, Ant Edwards never reached out to him. That’s a lie… He did. He reached out to him and it was received.”

However, on Friday, both Olympic Gold Medalists did separate appearances on stage at Javit Center in Midtown Manhattan for Fanatics Fest. LeBron James refrained, yet again, from any hints over where he might play next season.

Edwards’ appearance touched on a lot of things. Unfortunately, the likelihood of LeBron to Minnesota wasn’t really one of them, though he didn’t seem all that confident in the Wolves’ chances while speaking with Kevin Negandhi (ESPN).

Negandhi: “What’s your reaction to the idea that the Timberwolves are on [LeBron’s] shortlist every time it’s discussed?”

Edwards: “I have nothing to say about it because I’ve seen his top three teams and we not in it, so…”

New MN Timberwolves teammates rooming together?

In fact, the 2020 No. 1 overall draft pick — who averaged 28.8 points, 5 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 61 games last season — touched on a handful of notable topics today, the most interesting of which was probably when asked about his new Timberwolves teammate, LaMelo Ball.

Apparently, Minnesota’s new point guard has been staying at Anthony Edwards’ house. He even said that he’s trying to rush back to the Twin Cities so the two can hang out more.

Ant and LaMelo have known each other for a long time, going back to their time on the AAU circuit. For those who don’t remember, Ball — who averaged 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.1 assists in 72 games last season — was drafted No. 2 overall in 2020, one pick after Edwards.

We’ll see what happens once the questions start flying in the postgame locker room at Target Center, come December and January, but Edwards said on stage Friday that one thing he and Ball have been discussing during their time together recently is professionalism with media…

Anthony Edwards helped Knicks win title?

Anthony Edwards also talked about his friendship with Karl-Anthony Towns, revealing that the two talked before every game during the NBA Finals. He even said that he gave KAT the cheat codes to successfully guard Victor Wembanyama.

There’s also a viral video going around where Ant crowned Jalen Brunson the face of the NBA and says that he cannot be in that conversation until he wins a title.

Who will win “White Boy of the Year?

Outside of the above two clips, though, the most interesting moment of Edwards’ appearance today at Fanatics Fest was when he showed the crowd his finalists for “White Boy of the Year.”

The list included the likes of Justin Bieber, Tom Holland, Matt Damon(?), Rory McIlroy, Travis Kelce and former Vikings QB Sam Darnold, among others.

Anthony Edwards revealed the nominees for “White Boy of the Year” for the “Believe That Awards.”

He said the winner “gotta have swag.”

He also revealed his finalists for “OG’s of the Year.” I have no idea why this is a thing, but I’m here for it.
