During Fanatics Fest this weekend, four-time NBA champion and top free agent forward LeBron James made an appearance. Following the trade for Jaylen Brown, Philadelphia has been on James’ radar as a team to join this summer. Not only do James and Tyrese Maxey share the same agent (Rich Paul), James has also previously been teammates with Joel Embiid as members of Team USA during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Speculation of James’ move to Philadelphia continued to grow Friday when James uttered, “trusting the process,” during a recording at the festival. According to NBC Philadelphia, James had a “brief and friendly” conversation with Josh Harris, the owner of the 76ers, during a VIP event throughout the weekend-long event.
While neither of these developments is indicative of him choosing the 76ers over other pursuers, Philadelphia’s contact with James over recent weeks should be viewed positively as the 23-year veteran continues to mull over his options.
