For the second time this offseason, the Clippers and Cam Christie have agreed to push back the former second-round pick’s salary guarantee date, according to Law Murray of The Athletic (Twitter link).
Christie’s $2.3MM salary for 2026/27 was originally set to be guaranteed if had remained on the roster through June 30. Murray reported at the time that the two sides agreed to delay the decision until July 20, now he hears the new early salary guarantee date is October 15.
Christie’s contract technically runs through 2027/28. The Clippers hold a $2.5MM option on the 6’5″ shooting guard for that season, with a salary guarantee date of June 30, 2027.
The 46th overall pick in the 2024 draft, Christie has played a modest role with Los Angeles over the course of his first two NBA seasons. He made 55 appearances last season, averaging 2.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game.
Christie, who turns 21 years old on Friday, is the younger brother of Mavericks wing Max Christie.
