The Miami Heat have had conversations with DeMar DeRozan and Bradley Beal about a potential signing.

Although there haven’t been any potential deals agreed yet, the Miami Heat still made significant progress in their push to sign two former NBA stars.

According to Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson, the Heat have had conversations with DeMar DeRozan and Bradley Beal.

“The Heat has had conversation with free agent forward Demar DeRozan’s camp in the aftermath of James picking the 76ers, but there’s no deal at this point and it’s unclear if there will be one,” Jackson wrote.

“Though the Heat spoke with Bradley Beal’s camp earlier this season, waiting on Thompson remained the preference as of the end of the week.”

Heat make progress in DeMar DeRozan, Bradley Beal pursuit

Both DeMar DeRozan and Bradley Beal are two key unrestricted free agents left in the offseason market.

The Sacramento Kings waived DeRozan earlier this month. Last season, he averaged 18.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while shooting 49.7% from the field.

Meanwhile, Bradley Beal declined his $5.6 million 2026-27 player option to enter free agency. He appeared in only six games for the LA Clippers this past season before a hip injury ended his campaign.

The three-time All-Star averaged 8.2 points and 1.7 assists, while shooting 37.5% from the field.

DeRozan and Beal join Klay Thompson among the Heat’s well-known targets being pursued. And with LeBron James officially picking the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami can only be determined to pursue their backup options.
