‘Big Red Rebuild’ delays Husker basketball reseat process
Overlapping timelines for reseating projects within Husker Athletics have postponed the reseating for Nebraska men’s basketball.
LINCOLN, Neb. —
Overlapping timelines for reseating projects within Husker Athletics have postponed the reseating for Nebraska men’s basketball.
The announcement was obtained Big Red Zone Insider, Sean Callahan on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the email sent by the athletic department, the Big Red Rebuild project at Memorial Stadium has caused “significant and unavoidable” overlapping timelines between those renovations and the men’s basketball reseat.
The University’s athletic department now plans for the Pinnacle Bank Arena reseat process to happen in 2029.

“We understand that this change may impact your planning, and we appreciate your patience and understanding,” said Husker Athletics in their announcement. “Your dedication to Nebraska Athletics is important, and we want to ensure our commitment to you remains the same: providing clear, transparent and consistent communication, so you have the information needed to make informed decisions.”
The Big Red Rebuild project at Memorial Stadium was approved by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents in April. The project will “combine innovation with tradition to dramatically elevate the fan experience.”

Husker volleyball is also undergoing a reseating process for the upcoming season. The Devaney Center will go from 8,300 to 10,000 seats in 2026. It’s the first full reseating in the program’s history.
