Houston’s defensive phenom Amen Thompson was recently pictured taking up a new sport amid the NBA offseason. In a recent photo surfacing around social media, Thompson posed with his twin brother Ausar and former boxing star Dyah Davis. Davis hasn’t fought since 2022 but holds a career record of 26-4-1 and was at one point the NABF Super Middleweight Champion.
Just like the Thompson twins with basketball, boxing was a family affair for Davis, who is the son of Howard Davis Jr., a former Olympic gold medalist in the sport.
As preseason action approaches nearly a month away, Rockets fans will be eager to see if Thompson can take what he learned to elevate his game even further, after averaging 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks a season ago.
