The 76ers will go into the 2026-27 NBA season with championship expectations after signing LeBron James and trading for Jaylen Brown to boost their odds.
While the path to a title is long, 2024 Finals MVP Brown already has plans for himself and his teammates for when they secure the title.
Jaylen Brown wants to take LeBron James and the other 76ers skydiving after title win
Brown was streaming on Twitch when he discussed his recent experience skydiving in Egypt, revealing that he asked his 76ers teammates to skydive with him after they win an NBA title, with LeBron vehemently refusing.
“I told the team, I told V.J., Max, LeBron, and Embiid that if we win a championship, we’re all going skydiving. Bron texted me back like, ‘Boy, hell nah.’”
Jaylen Brown already has a championship celebration planned for the 76ers.
If they win the title, he says the entire team is going skydiving.

Imagining the 6’9″ LeBron at 42 years old, skydiving, is quite the mental image. He likely will not subject himself to that level of risk, even if the 76ers complete a three-peat with him over the next three seasons.
Brown also asked Embiid, Maxey, and Edgecombe, but he didn’t reveal how the others responded. We likely won’t know anything else until the 76ers actually win a title with this core.
76ers are legitimate NBA title contenders
The 76ers might not have as well-built a roster as teams like the New York Knicks, OKC Thunder, and San Antonio Spurs, but they’ll be confident about their chances of winning a title this season.

Philadelphia boasts arguably the strongest starting five in the NBA with LeBron, Maxey, Brown, Edgecombe, and Brown. They have strong rotational pieces like Dean Wade and Anfernee Simons to also rely on.
The biggest question for the team will be their defense with so many offensive specialists in their starting five. In addition, they’ll also need to figure out an offensive strategy that maximises what all of them can bring to the court together.
James will likely slot in as the point guard to help them figure this out, but it might be a two-year project for a title.
