Texas A&M football: How Reed Arena got its name

Reed Arena has been around since 1998. Here is a history of Texas A&M’s arena that sits nearly 13,000 people.

The Texas A&M basketball program is closing on a completed roster, gaining another recruit Friday when rising senior guard Rylan Griffen committed to the Aggies.

Griffen just finished his first season at Kansas following two seasons at Alabama. He averaged 6.3 points per game and 1.3 assists per game for the Jayhawks and will play for first-year Aggies coach Bucky McMillan.

The 6-foot-6 playmaker from Dallas played at Richardson High school and was a four-star recruit in the 2022 class.

With the team looking to add more scorers to help round out the new-look roster, Griffen brings talent and SEC experience to College Station.

McMillan’s tenure started with just one scholarship athlete remaining on the roster. Now, the roster is up to 11.

Griffen adds another dynamic scorer and ball-handler to the A&M program that graduated the school’s all-time leading scorer Wade Taylor IV.

With the roster size now in the double digits, the Aggies will continue looking to add pieces to the roster to help smooth the transition into “Bucky Ball” under their new head coach.

Bucky Ball is a fast-paced, high-effort style on both ends of the floor.
