The Philadelphia 76ers finalized the signing of veteran guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on Wednesday, completing its roster for at least the first half of the 2026-27 season.

Caldwell-Pope is a veteran of 13 seasons and 963 NBA games with Detroit, the Lakers, Washington, Denver, Orlando and last year with Memphis. He won NBA titles in 2020 with the Lakers, alongside new 76ers teammate LeBron James, and in 2023 with the Nuggets.

Caldwell-Pope will wear No. 1 with the 76ers.

KCP has averaged 9.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in his career, a lifetime 36.5 percent shooter from 3-point range.

In 51 games with Memphis last year (14 starts), he averaged 21.3 minutes, 8.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

His 3-point shooting percentage dipped to 31.6 percent, but it was as high as 40.6 in as many attempts per game in 2024. He shot 42.3 percent from 3-point range with the Nuggets in 2022-23.

Caldwell-Pope has started all 67 postseason games in which he’s appeared. He’s averaging 32.4 minutes, 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists with a 35.8 3-point shooting percentage in those games.

Caldwell-Pope is 33 and stands 6-5, 204 pounds. He’s a valuable second-unit spacer and scorer who should complement Anfernee Simons and rookie Labaron Philon Jr. in providing depth scoring behind the Phillies All-Star lineup. He was the eighth overall pick in the 2013 draft by the Pistons.

The signing of Caldwell-Pope gives the 76ers 14 standard contracts for the upcoming season. They are hard-capped at the first apron, meaning any further additions beyond exchanges of two-way players would require a subtraction from the roster.
