The Charlotte Hornets acquired Coby White from the Chicago Bulls at the trade deadline.White averaged 15.6 points and shot 39.1% from 3-point range in 21 games with the Hornets.Coby White is set to become the Hornets’ new starting point guard this upcoming season.
The Charlotte Hornets upgraded their backup point guard position at last February’s trade deadline, acquiring Coby White for a trade packaged headlined by Collin Sexton. Although White missed time due to a calf injury following his arrival, the former UNC guard offered an immediate impact offensively since his debut.
After 29 games with the Chicago Bulls, White played in 21 games with the Hornets to end the regular season, averaging 15.6 points, three rebounds, three assists, 0.2 steals and 0.1 blocks while shooting 39.1% from 3-point range. Following the subtraction of LaMelo Ball this offseason, White will be Charlotte’s new starting point guard beginning this fall with recent No. 18 overall pick Christian Anderson Jr. backing him up.
