Former Thunder player Isaiah Joe presents check to Oklahoma Children’s to help heart center in OKC
Former Oklahoma City Thunder player Isaiah Joe hosted a golf tournament that raised over $300,000 to support pediatric heart programs at hospitals in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
OKLAHOMA CITY —
Isaiah Joe, a former Oklahoma City Thunder player, raised more than $300,000 through a golf tournament last month to support pediatric heart programs in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Half of the funds will go to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, while the other half will benefit OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.
During a check presentation at Oklahoma Children’s OU Health, hospital officials said the donation will help fund their new 200,000-square-foot heart center and add more beds for patients.

“Organizations like the Isaiah Joe Family Foundation allow us to really pour into expanding how we show up for our kids today,” said Tracy Cothran, president of children’s services at the hospital.
Joe shared that this mission is personal for him, as his brother was born with heart defects that required emergency treatment and surgeries, ultimately changing his life for the better.
“We’re just trying to touch as many lives as possible. We’re giving back to the pediatric cardiology unit. So, hopefully they can use some of that to maybe help with some of the technology, or some of the staff so they can do whatever they can to touch any child’s life,” Joe said.
