We’ve got our first reveals of the Houston Rockets schedule for next season.
Houston will face the San Antonio Spurs in the Austin’s Moody Center on October 23 as part of the NBA’s Opening Week.
The game, which will be televised on Amazon Prime, is an early showcase and test for the Rockets against a Spurs team that won three of last season’s four matchups and, eventually, the Western Conference crown. It is the second game of a doubleheader on Amazon Prime. The Knicks are at Boston in the other. The Rockets-Spurs are scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
The Rockets will not play on opening night or on Christmas Day. The Christmas schedule includes the Spurs at Knicks in an NBA Finals rematch and the 76ers at the Lakers in a meeting between LeBron James and his former team. Other Christmas games are the Heat at Celtics, Thunder at Timberwolves and Nuggets at Warriors.
The season begins on Oct. 20.
