The Nuggets are part of the NBA’s Christmas festivities for a fifth consecutive season.
Denver will head to Golden State to play the nightcap on Dec. 25, the NBA on Tuesday announced when it revealed the schedule for the first week of the season and Christmas.
David Adelman’s team is not part of the opening-night lineup. The NBA season kicks off with a triple-header on Oct. 20. Boston goes to Detroit for the first game of the season. LeBron James and the Sixers visit New York for the Knicks’ ring ceremony in the second game of the season, and opening night concludes with a rematch of the Western Conference finals with the Thunder at Oklahoma City.
The Nuggets’ season starts a couple of days later at Oklahoma City on Oct. 22. Denver’s first game of the season will be broadcast by ESPN. A couple of months later, the Nuggets’ Christmas Day game wraps a five-game slate.
The Christmas lineup starts with a Finals rematch between the Spurs and Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Then, it’s the Heat and Celtics in Boston. James and the 76ers’ game against the Lakers in Los Angeles is the third game of the day followed by the Timberwolves hosting the Thunder.
The night ends with the Nuggets and Warriors tipping off at Oracle Arena with an 8:30 p.m. local start.
The Nuggets last year beat the Timberwolves, 142-138, in an overtime thriller on Christmas Day. Nikola Jokic dazzled with 56 points, 16 rebounds and 15 assists in the winning effort. During the 2024-25 season, the Nuggets lost to the Phoenix Suns 110-100 on Christmas Day.
The Nuggets have a 4-7 record in Dec. 25 games. They are 3-3 in Christmas Day games since drafting Nikola Jokic.
The NBA will announce the in-season tournament schedule on Wednesday with the full schedule release to be revealed on Thursday.
