As the NBA continues to leak out notable parts of its 2026-27 schedule, the Celtics will not be a part of two key holidays during the season.
The league plans on making both MLK Day and Presidents Day all-day affairs, with nationally televised games throughout. However, based on the most recent reports, the Celtics will not be part of the nationally televised games during either of those two holidays.
Each of those days will feature four games spread out and scheduled for 12:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. each, similar to the five-game Christmas Day game slate. These games will feature big brands like the Knicks and 76ers, along with several teams who won’t be highlighted on Christmas Day, and they will all be on either NBC or Peacock.

An NBC Sports quadrupleheader will highlight the NBA schedule on Presidents’ Day (Monday, Feb. 15).
The four-game lineup opens with Minnesota’s LaMelo Ball returning to Charlotte to face the Hornets.

Boston has already been scheduled for a few crucial windows during the year, so this is the NBA spreading the wealth a little bit. During the 2025-26 season, the Celtics played the Pistons on MLK Day, while the League was off on Presidents Day.
Most notably, though, is that the league has yet to release when the Celtics and 76ers will play at all during the season. Here’s what the NBA has released so far regarding the Celtics’ schedule.

The NBA will unveil the entire schedule on Thursday, but in the lead-up, the league has leaked out several key Celtics games on the schedule.

The schedule currently includes four nationally televised contests along with the Celtics’ four NBA Cup games in the Fall. Boston will open the season with the first game of the year in Detroit before hosting the team’s home opener a few days later.
