The Buckeyes have brought in an international player to fill their 15th roster spot. 

Lee Aaliya, who has spent three years on Argentina’s National Team, has joined Ohio State for the 2026-27 season. 

The 21-year-old, 6-foot-9 forward has five years of professional basketball experience. 

“His experience, athleticism and physicality make him a valuable addition to our program,”Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler said, describing Aaliya in a statement.

Aaliya averaged 17.1 points and 9 rebounds in the U19 World Cup in 2023 and has played in the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup and FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers for the Argentinian National Team.

This past year in Spain’s Liga U22 league, Aaliya averaged 18.4 points and 9.6 rebounds for UCAM Murcia CB.

With Aaliya joining the Buckeyes, they have officially brought in nine new players throughout the offseason after making their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2022 last season.
