Speaking on a recent livestream, former OKC Thunder star Markieff Morris told the story of how he got into a fight with Dennis Schroder.
He noted that Schroder didn’t take kindly to him questioning his mistake, and they almost got into a physical altercation, as Russell Westbrook urged Morris to hit the German guard.
“I know what type of guy Schroder is. He is a feisty little m———–… We on a plane; I just get to OKC. He was there, Russ, PG. We at the card table. He made a play that was like a buma– play.
“I said, ‘You could have did that. First things first, he goes, ‘Who are you to tell me what play to make?’
“I’m just smiling, like, ‘What does that have to do with anything? You made a bad play. You just got here you can’t tell me nothing.’ I’m like, ‘We’re playing cards; I can tell you what I want to tell you…’
“I tell him, ‘F— all that ball s–, get up right now, let’s handle this business on the plane. I will smack the dogs— out of you right f—— now.

“Westbrook right here to my left, and Westbrook goes like, ‘Yeah, somebody needs to smack that m———-, like, go ahead.
“Ray Felton over here, OG, he like, ‘Nah, you just got here, chill. For what? I’m thinking, been, he talking like this the entire season to m————. I could see the energy from all different people.”
Rather than neutralise the situation as the leader of the team, Westbrook chose to egg on his teammates to get into a fight.
Instead, it was Raymond Felton, the veteran in the locker room, who told both players to stand down. Luckily, the two put their differences aside and became good teammates.
