Follow us on Google Discover The Los Angeles Rams had a big announcement to make on Sunday, but they found time for a little trolling first. Just before confirming Aaron Donald’s return, the team took a shot at the Miami Heat over their infamous LeBron James press conference error.
Donald’s comeback was already one of the biggest NFL stories of the day, with the future Hall of Famer agreeing to return to Los Angeles on a one-year, $20 million deal.
The Rams have also added Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie this offseason, giving them plenty of reason to feel confident heading into the new campaign.

Before revealing Donald was officially coming back, the Rams posted on X: ‘Anybody know how to set up a YouTube live stream without it going public? Need to test for something.’
The joke was aimed directly at the Heat, who accidentally posted a scheduled YouTube stream titled ‘LeBron James Introductory Press Conference’ while waiting for James to make his free agency decision in July.

The link was quickly removed, but the moment was not forgotten.
Just one minute after the Rams’ post, Los Angeles confirmed that Donald was coming out of retirement and returning to the team.
Donald had retired after the 2023 season and has missed the last two campaigns. He has now agreed to a one-year contract worth $20 million, which can rise to $30 million through incentives.
The veteran defensive tackle also explained that he had been preparing for the comeback for several weeks.
‘I’ve been working the last 12-13 weeks to train my body and get it to a point where I felt like I could still play the game at a high level and be durable,’ Donald told Jordan Schultz.
‘I am now ready to come back to try and do something special with this group of guys. We back.’
It is not the first time another sports team has referenced Miami’s mistake. The Winnipeg Jets made their own joke shortly afterwards, even creating a mock LeBron introductory press conference graphic.
Now the Rams have joined in, and they arguably had the perfect opportunity.
Donald returns to a defence that already includes Garrett, Byron Young, Braden Fiske and Kobie Turner. Given the firepower Los Angeles has assembled, the Rams clearly believe they have a genuine chance to make a run at the Super Bowl.
