Toronto Raptors fans can celebrate Kyle Lowry in person at a free block party at Maple Leaf Square Sept. 19 — the first in a series of events leading up to the legendary point guard’s jersey retirement ceremony this season.
What can fans expect at Kyle Lowry’s Block Party?
Dubbed Kyle’s Block Party, the event kicks off at 11:30 a.m. where Raptors fans have long gathered to cheer on Canada’s team during their post-season runs, including the iconic 2019 championship.
“Jurassic Park became special because our fans made it special, and our players felt that connection every night,” Raptors General Manager and Executive Vice-President Bobby Webster said.
“Kyle and his teammates knew that while they were playing inside, thousands of people were right outside those doors cheering them on. Those fans were part of the journey and part of the memories we made together, so it only feels right to come back to the place they created and throw a party with No. 7.”
The daytime celebration will feature food and beverage stations, giveaways, special guest appearances, exclusive merchandise pop-ups, apparel customization and onstage programming for fans.
To attend the event, fans can enter for a chance to win free tickets through the Fan Access platform via the Raptors app, which goes live on Friday, Sept. 4 at noon. Entries will close on Sept. 16 at noon, and selected fans will be notified that day.
What are the GROAT Nights before Kyle Lowry’s jersey retirement?
Prior to Lowry’s iconic No. 7 jersey being raised to the rafters at Scotiabank Arena on Jan. 10, 2027 when the Raptors take on the Philadelphia 76ers, two “GROAT Nights” will take place in what is set to be a memorable week for Raptors fans.
The celebration begins on Jan. 7 as the Raptors host the Minnesota Timberwolves at Scotiabank Arena, and will continue the next day on Jan. 8 against the Utah Jazz at home, with both games set to feature special programming and surprises, according to a team media release.
On the first night, fans in attendance will receive a special T-shirt with graphics honouring Lowry’s jersey retirement, followed by a bobblehead giveaway featuring Lowry with the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
Lowry will be teaming up with the Raptors to give away two tickets to each game, along with the chance for one fan to win tickets to all three games, which will include the jersey retirement ceremony on Jan. 10.
What does the new Kyle Lowry Raptors logo look like?
The Raptors also unveiled a new logo in honour of their legendary point guard.
The logo, which will debut at some point during the regular season, features the retro Raptor wearing Lowry’s no. 7, with one finger in the air just like the star point guard famously used to do while on the court.

During the regular season when Vince Carter became the first Raptor in franchise history to have his number retired, the Raptors honoured him with a City Edition jersey that featured a logo of his own, which was available for purchase.
Plans for Lowry’s logo and any merchandise have yet to be confirmed.
