Fresh off the vindication of having been right about Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers, Pablo Torre teases his next investigation which is set to involve their crosstown rivals.
The Los Angeles Clippers and Kawhi Leonard were punished by the NBA for their roles in circumventing the salary cap. For his role in exposing the scandal, Pablo Torre has rightly earned a lot of plaudits.
Los Angeles sports teams have been through a torrid past year. While the Clippers are bearing the brunt of all the criticism, things haven’t been ideal for the Lakers and the Dodgers either.
Mark Walter sold his majority share in the Lakers while being federally investigated. While he still retains his ownership of the Dodgers, Pablo Torre’s hint that this is his next investigation might make fans worry.

On Thursday, Torre took to X to share a photo of Walter at the White House with the Dodgers, simply captioned, “New investigation. Tomorrow.”
The award-winning journalist also did an interview with Variety, in which he expanded further on what the investigation will look to address and why it matters to the people.
“Tomorrow, Friday, we have part one of an investigation that also involves federal agencies, also involves the public interest, also involves Hall of Fame basketball players, also involves a team in Los Angeles, also involves a baseball team in Los Angeles,” Torre said.
The verdict is in! What do you make of the Clippers’ punishment for the Kawhi Leonard investigation? 🤯
“And we’re trying to make something that seems very complicated, once again, something that people realize is not only a lot simpler than they might think, but is also deeply relevant to their interests as the public is concerned. I hope people give it time and sit through it.”
There are a lot of questions behind what motivated Walter’s sale, and there has been some reporting about his alleged billion-dollar debts. With Torre now taking an interest, it will be intriguing to see what new facts come to light.
