Former Charlotte Hornets guard Amari Bailey has signed a contract with Hapoel Jerusalem of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.Bailey was the No. 41 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by Charlotte after one season at UCLA.He played 10 games for the Hornets on a two-way contract during the 2023-24 season.
Former Charlotte Hornets guard Amari Bailey has agreed to sign a new professional contract overseas, landing a deal with Hapoel Jerusalem of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. There he’ll join another former Hornet, Xavier Sneed. Bailey was drafted by Charlotte with the No. 41 overall pick in 2023 out of UCLA. He spent one year in college with the Bruins, averaging 11.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks.
During the 2023-24 season, Bailey played with the Hornets on a two-way contract, making 10 appearances at the NBA level. In those games, he averaged 2.3 points, 0.9 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.3 steals in 6.5 minutes per contest. During the 2024-25 season, Bailey played in the G League for the Long Island Nets. Now with a move to Israel, he’ll hope to lead Hapoel Jerusalem to success after they finished third in the Israeli Basketball Premier League standings a season ago.
